

Fall 2020
In October, our inaugural Pace High School chapter of the Jazz Education Network was started. Future scheduled events include listening nights, jam sessions, and performances by ensembles entirely made up of 64 new JEN members.
On October 31st, each section of the Pride of the Red White and Blue was featured on our Fall Performance Showcase. This was our first public musical performance opportunity of the school year!

Winter 2020-2021
Our Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble I, Jazz Ensemble II, and Pace Saxophone Project all came together to perform on our annual Winter Concert.
Our Jazz Ensemble I started recording tracks to be entered into several national jazz competitions, including Downbeat Student Music Awards & Essentially Ellington.
Pace High School was one of two schools to host an in person Gulf Coast Color Guard and Percussion Circuit show this season. Percussion and Guards from Florida, Alabama, & Mississippi were all in attendance!
Jazz Ensemble 1 was invited to perform at Marshall University's Winter Jazz Festival, who received great feedback from the panel of professional Jazz educators!
The following students performed at our Virtual District Solo and Ensemble Contest this year. It was a new experience for everyone.

We also held our own "in person" Solo and Ensemble Contest. Our students were able to receive instant feedback from our guest adjudicator, FBA Hall of Fame member, Mr. Joe Hooten. The following students took advantage of this additional performance opportunity.

Spring 2021
On March 2nd, the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band all performed their "Concert MPA" repertoire in front of a live panel of nine local adjudicators. After each performance, adjudicators took time to speak with each ensemble about their performance. After attending two qualifying regionals, the Varsity Guard performed at the Florida Federation of Colorguard Circuit in Daytona Beach on March 28th and were named the Scholastic A Class Champions!

Congratulations to the Indoor Percussion and Varsity Winter Guard for each being selected as a 2021 WGI World Championships Finalist! This is a huge accomplishment for each ensemble!Also congratulations to the Indoor Percussion for being voted as the WGI Semi-Finals Fan Favorite!
Jazz Ensemble I & II, 6 JEN Combos and 9 Chamber Ensembles performed at the inaugural Small Ensemble Showcase. Majority of the music performed was selected & rehearsed completely by the student groups. Bravo to all performers!
